For general educational use

Maths Solving is provided for general educational and informational purposes. Every calculator and worked example is built and tested with care, but mistakes are possible. You should always sanity-check critical results against an independent source before relying on them.

Numerical precision

All calculations on this site are performed in IEEE-754 double-precision floating-point arithmetic. That gives roughly 15 significant digits of precision, which is more than enough for any school or undergraduate problem but is not infinite. For problems that demand more precision (high-precision banking arithmetic, certain physics calculations) you should use software designed for that purpose.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site constitutes financial, medical, legal, engineering, or any other professional advice. The calculators help you do mathematics; they do not tell you which mathematics to apply to a real-world problem. If you are using maths to make a decision with non-trivial consequences, consult a qualified professional.
