Trigonometry Calculator
Two triangle solvers (right and oblique) plus the six trigonometric functions, in one place.
Solve right and oblique triangles — SSS, SAS, ASA, AAS — or evaluate the six trig functions for any angle.
—
The three triangle cases worth knowing
- SSS — three sides. Use the law of cosines to find each angle:
cos(A) = (b² + c² − a²) / (2bc). - SAS — two sides and the included angle. Use the law of cosines to find the third side, then the law of sines for the remaining angles.
- ASA / AAS — two angles and a side. The third angle is determined (angles sum to 180°); use the law of sines for the missing sides.
The "ambiguous" SSA case can produce zero, one, or two valid triangles depending on the data. The calculator picks the principal solution; if you suspect a second solution exists, swap the angle to its supplement and check.
Reading the function panel
Type any angle in degrees or radians and you get all six values: sine, cosine, tangent, plus their reciprocals cosecant, secant, and cotangent. These come up in physics (sin in oscillation), surveying (tan for slopes), and graphics (cos for shading).
